Michael Barron crafts speculative fiction that brings the extraordinary crashing into the ordinary, offering stories filled with transformation, resilience, and humanity. His work has been featured in publications such as Graveside Press, Uncharted Magazine, and Rebellion LIT. His short story "The Last Time My Twin Destroyed The World" was runner up in the 2024 New England Science Fiction & Fantasy Short Story Contest. He is currently submitting his debut novel, Edge Country, to agents.
Michael's short comic Patches Rebellion (illustrated by Jack Van Thomme) will soon appear in the Blood Coven Moon Magic anthology.
Michael is a part of the neurodivergent community, and his experiences inspire his writing.
He is a member of the Science Ficton & Fantasy Writers Association and the Horror Writers Association. When he is not writing or reading he is either training for a marathon with his wife or working as a librarian at the Baltimore County Public Library, where he leads creative writing programs. He has undertaken a never-ending quest for the world’s greatest hot sauce.
